Wednesday night was a lot of fun. First up was Coco Love Alcorn she is absolutely amazing.. she started of the night with a few slow songs that packed so much groove and soul.. her style is minimalist but super entertaining, with lyrics "sugars so much sweeter when our eyes meet up" it makes you melt in your seat.. her operatic vocals left guys in the crowd with jaws dropped. It truly was a thrill to see her again! Then, next we were up. Guy started of the night with a couple acoustic tracks, and had the crowd yelping.. and then I joined Guy on the stage to do a few energetic funky blues songs. And then as promised, Nick Ogawa jumped on the stage for a sweet rendition of "Small". It's really something else having awesome musicians on stage with you, it all just falls together somehow.. Even better, we got an encore and played a rocked-out version of "Big Bad Hand". My arms went numb, and I got a drumstick in the eye, but it was worth it.. After us, Nick got back on stage to do his solo set. He is such an entertaining show for one guy.. singing while finger-picking the Cello and then he sets up a grove on his "loop-pedal" and traditionally uses the bow and jams over top of the music.. what a show!! Nick also got a well deserved encore. Thanks to Ross, Cristina, Simon, Assunta, Kate and everyone else who consistently makes it out to our shows.. you rock hard!
