It definitely does feel good to be back in civilisation, with good food, a comfy bed and hot water. Budget traveling in Mexico is an interesting experience.. one place my girlfriend Saraya and I stayed in had previously been under water a month earlier!! But, I can't complain.. we did ask for their $20 economy room. Lots of great times, but happy to be back, and ready to get to work. Music is work. But it's much more enjoyable than the jobs we have. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy serving the public. I like working in the public services sector, and I like people. But, it can tend to get a bit dull, repetitive, and I wouldn't be there if they didn't pay me.

The Media Club

Our opportunity to perform at the open mic at the Media Club was an excellent one. The night had a wee bit of a slow start as the drummer for the house band didn't show up till after 10:30, but the line-up of talent was smokin hot! This guy named "Derek" opened up the night with an acoustic rendition of "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier" by the Killers, that was bang on.

Tonight is the night!

We are doing an open mic tonight at the "Media Club"... aparently the best open mic in town. We've been polishing a few song and been doing alot of at home recording, which i have to say the money invested had really paid off.
